First time round I assumed that I could simply teleport over to my M3 and escape but the mission messed up when the freighter was destroyed. For example, in one Terran mission you are required to capture a cargo freighter to find out some info then use the freighter to sneak up to a ship to plant a bug on it. In fact, a player is probably much more lethal using the mouse controls due to the abilty to actively aim your weapons.ġ1) Your astronaut suit now has a repair laser which is very handy for repairing small amounts of damage to fighter craft.ġ) Plot missions can be a bit difficult due to unclear instructions and ability to 'break' them. I use a joystick to play but I did have a brief flit with the mouse controls, which are now pretty much identical to Freelancer's controls (which is A Good Thing).

a Mamba Raider can now do ~263m/s rather than 200m/s.ĩ) The Khaak have been rebalanced so now they are on par with other opponents (no more getting shredded in the first few moments of combat)ġ0) Vastly improved mouse control. You'll very rarely enter a sector that doesn't have a mission to your liking.Ħ) More 'one of a kind' ships that you are awarded or able to purchase as a result of doing plot missions.Ĩ) Combat is now a lot more tense especially with the Xenon and Yaki mounting PBEs and the flamethrower type weapons. I bought Terran Conflict a fortnight ago and have really been enjoying it for the reasons below:Ģ) A 'My Missions' section that keeps track of all your currrent missions as well as giving you visual guidance to the objectives (no more reading through your messages only to find out that you've deleted the information)ģ) Communications range increased to 25KM (no more having to get into weapons range of people to apologise for shooting them)Ĥ) No longer having to dock to see what missions are available - simply get within communications range and talkĥ) Increased frequency of missions - Whereas in Reunion you would seem to search for hours to find the mission you wanted, it is now the other way round. Didn't have the heart to start over from the beginning. I gave up on Reunion after my saved games got corrupted for no reason (lost an empire of 30 UTs ). Though, the thing that attracts me the most is that it's faster to make cash in TC compared to Reunion. Well, the reasons not to get TC just keep getting bigger and bigger. I'm really not enjoying it much, while I loved X3:R and X2. wrote:I just got X3:TC and have put in about 10 hours or so. Or I may start a game that is more fun and less treacherous. That's the situation I'm in now, so I'm basically screwed and may start over. And there's no way to talk them out of it. Even worse, the police REMAIN HOSTILE to you. This means the mission fails, so the police jump in and blow up the ship. The problem is that the ships are so beat up that it takes them too long to make the return journey, so as they approach the station, time runs out. They sound easy: you fly to the abandoned ship, claim it, and have it fly back to the owner's station. The most insidious ones are the "Return my abandoned ship" missions. The problem is that you can't actually do most of them in the beginning, yet you don't know enough details to avoid them. There are lots and lots of missions, which seems like it should be good. It seems in X3:TC there are way to many ways to screw yourself permanently.

I just got X3:TC and have put in about 10 hours or so.
